Orientation to I year students of VVV College on Library Services has been conducted on 25th June 2012. The students eagerly noted the information and they have been motivated to utilize the library.
VVV College Library's blog helps patrons to update their knowledge with scholarly communication on academic and research activities. CAS, SDI, e-Resources such as full-text articles, databases, bibliographic holdings are shared. About the Workshop
- The workshop was really a knowledge provoking one.
- Meet more than 100 LIS community people from different parts of India.
- Prof.Dr.I.K.Ravichandra Rao's,DRTC, IISc, Bangalore keynote address and sessions clarified the classical laws of Scientometrics.
- Prof.Dr.S.Kademani, Senior Scientist from BARC, Mumbai has been mingling with everyone right from the toddler in bibliometrics to experts in bibliometrics and he has done a great job in exploiting all his research works. Even during lunch sessions he has been answering the questions from the participants.
- Prof.Dr.B.D.Kumbar and Prof.Dr.R.R.Naik's tireless effort in hospitality is highly appreciable and maintained punctuality.
- Thanks to Prof.Dr.Joshi, the econometrician and expert in SPSS for his breakless, enthusiastic lecture and practicals. The participants really waited for his sessions and we never missed his sessions.
- Prof.Dr.N.S.Harinarayanan's Google Scholar lecture has been an eye opener.
- Prof.Dr.S.L.Sangam's lecture was a remarkable one. The participants really had a nice time and exchanged many ideas.

Library Exhibition on "INFORMATION LITERACY" to High School and Higher Secondary School kids
The Department of Library & Information Science of V.V.Vanniaperumal College for Women, Virudhunagar is going to conduct a library exhibition to outreach the entrants of higher secondary education and higher education on "INFORMATION LITERACY" from 24 Jan, 2012 to 25 Jan, 2012 between 10.00 a.m. and 05.00 p.m.
The main objective of this extension service is to create awareness about the availability of information on diverse disciplines and to transform the intelligent schooling buds into "information manipulators".
